The owners wanted a relaxed single storey family home with good outdoor living space for a pool, open but zoned living areas with lots of light, enough room for an expanding family that made the most of the natural dirt laned block in the Beleura Hill area of Mornington.Surrounded by older straight line set homes with establishedmature gardens and coastal tee tree doted through out.
A gentle grade falling to the front with large trees as a back drop, the orientation is north to the rear and south to the front, these blocks allow good sunny outdoor living using the building shape to create privacy. As there are no outer views a double storey was not necessary and the 1027m2 block had room to sprawl.
Highlight windows with pyramids balanced with parapet’s that separate and cover floor plan needs gave the home proportion. With earthy tones that blend rather than contrasts and our love of natural timber combined with brushed brickwork expressed eaves created a modern relaxed classic line.
